Welcome!

I love sharing my life with you on this little blog. Thank you for stopping by! I re-size all my pictures for the web, making them unsuitable for print. If you come across a picture that you would like a copy for printing, please just let me know. I'll be glad to send one your way!

What a busy week!

This week just flew by! Every day was filled with places to go and people to see. I spent hours on the phone this week too---lots of time with Bj working on our silly network. It's finally up and running! Yay Bj!

Then, I got to reminisce and relive old times as I called my dad for help with algebra. Hadley needed help and I could NOT remember how to do her work. Papa to the rescue!! Mom commented on how different this little tutorial session was from those back in the day. I couldn't help but think the same thing myself. No tears and no arguing! At least not between me and Dad... Hadley had her own agenda. Ha! I guess it's just all part of the circle of life...

Thursday was our most exciting day by far, though. Tyler and Hadley both had orthodontic appts. As you know, Tyler has not ever really forgiven us for "making" him get braces. Cruel and unusual punishment in his book! Because his teeth were pretty good to start with, we knew he should only have them a short while. Our goal was May 4. Tyler being Tyler, asked at every visit if he might be ready to get them off early. Yesterday, his prayers were answered! The doc said his teeth looked good and were ready. And it was Tyler's lucky day----they had a cancellation and could do it right then. The next possible appt. for removal was in FIVE weeks. I can't believe it all worked out so well yesterday.... They removed the braces and made his retainers, which will be worn at night. His teeth look great---easily seen due to the constant smile pasted on his face. All. Day. Long. The office staff even commented that they hadn't seen anybody as happy to get those things off! He has a little chip in one of his front teeth that needs fixing, so we'll have to get that on the agenda. Doesn't he look great?? He even took Hadley and me out to lunch---and HE paid!

Hadley's day wasn't quite so fortunate. This picture of her in the chair was as close as she'd let me get yesterday! While Tyler was flying high, she was getting a wonderful new appliance. It will adjust her bite and works like headgear, only it's inside her mouth. Right now, she can only touch her front teeth together and has a hard time chewing anything. She was most worried that people could see it from the outside and that she sounded funny... She will probably have this appliance for at least several months.

All week long, the weathermen have been predicting a blizzard for our area due to arrive today. They predicted a foot of snow, with drifts up to ten feet. Our school administrators believed them and called for school closures yesterday around 5:00. Crazy! They almost never make the announcement the day before. When we got the news, it was 70 degrees. Tyler had just mowed. In shorts! Sure enough, though, the weathermen were right and it hit during the night. Driving in town today was really ok---visibility was the biggest issue and the highways were all closed outside the city limits. The kids LOVED the snow day. Hadley had Alli spend the night last night, and will again tonight. They slept in, played games and just enjoyed themselves. Hadley, Alli and David (friend David, not dad-David) went to see "Monsters vs. Aliens" and then came back here for supper and some fun time in the snow. **In the pic below, David is wearing Hadley's shirt for laughs. He's such a funny guy!**

I think officially we have gotten eleven inches, with the tallest drifts around seven feet. I dont' think we have any seven foot drifts here, probably closer to four or five at our house. But it's still snowing... ;) Oh and take a look at that great-looking fence in the backyard pics... Dad helped David last weekend, and it's just nearly finished! All David lacks is the side gate.

Tyler decided to go dive in the snow in only shorts. He didn't last too long...

Lance finally got his Xbox today. He's been saving for such a long time... Go Lance! He's been close for a while, but got side-tracked a bit and was finally ready to go this week. Today he and David went to the store and he's been the one with the giant grin! With Xbox, he puts on his headset and talks with his friends while they play against each other online. He started calling them on the way home to tell them all the good news!Ok.. there's a peek at our week!
