Welcome!

I love sharing my life with you on this little blog. Thank you for stopping by! I re-size all my pictures for the web, making them unsuitable for print. If you come across a picture that you would like a copy for printing, please just let me know. I'll be glad to send one your way!

New Fence!

Every now and then, it's kind of nice to have another "adult" strength male around... hehe. Just every now and then.

Our poor old fence really got knocked around a few weeks ago when we had lovely wind gusts of 50-60 mph. That meant it was time for a new one. Because the estimate to have one put up was so expensive, David decided to do it himself. He figured the hardest physical part might be digging the post holes. He had planned to rent a post-hole digger to make that easier. Then he realized we had a post-hole digger taking up residence just down the hall... ;)

Yesterday was the demolition. Tyler did a ton of work. In fact, I think he kinda enjoyed the demolition part. Today was the "set the new posts" and "dispose of the old stuff day", which was a pretty lofty goal for one day.

While David was running to the store for supplies this morning, he came across a city worker in our neighborhood--THE SOLID WASTE GUY! He stopped and asked if he hauled off old fences. And he did. So David told him where to come, and we got nearly all our old fence stuff hauled away. Easy! David was expecting 2-3 trips to the dump, at least. What a blessing! It was a huge time saver, not to mention the gas back and forth. Yay for the solid waste guy!

If all goes well, tomorrow begins the actual construction of the fence. It's going to look so nice.
