Welcome!

I love sharing my life with you on this little blog. Thank you for stopping by! I re-size all my pictures for the web, making them unsuitable for print. If you come across a picture that you would like a copy for printing, please just let me know. I'll be glad to send one your way!

Blessed

That's how I'm feeling right now. Yesterday I got to take my two 88-year-old grandmothers out to lunch and spend some great quality time with them both. How many people get to do that??? I thought that as we sat at the table in the restaurant---just the three of us. And I just felt so lucky. And blessed. And happy.
Last night, we went to see my favorite twins play basketball. Kindergarten basketball is a HOOT! It was really cute and we all enjoyed watching their antics. Two other boys from church are also on the team, so we knew lots of the players and fans alike. G and M are head and shoulders above nearly all their teammates and will probably be terrific ball players. Right now, they aren't all that into it---much to their parents' dismay! If all goes well, we will go see their big brother play on Saturday. Fun!

And, we found out today that Anita's surgery is delayed. One of the doctors she needed to see prior to surgery can't get her in until next week. Hopefully they will be able to schedule surgery immediately after that appointment. I'll let you know when we find out.

This and that

We decided it would be good for the kids to cook a meal, including planning, shopping and preparing. We asked them to choose something different from anything they'd done before. Not pancakes, macaroni and cheese from a box or steak. We already know how to do those... They were kind of excited about it! Lance chose Sour Cream Chicken Breasts. He was quite the chef--really on top of everything. He chose baked potatoes, green beans and bread to go with it. (Ok. He didn't choose the bread. I did! LOL He still hates bread. Don't know what's wrong with that kid!) He took it all in stride and handled the preparations so well. The food was delicious and we ALL enjoyed our dinner. Yay Lance!

Hadley chose a slightly simpler meal of homemade fettuccine alfredo with bread. I helped her less than I did Lance and she did a wonderful job. It was delicious. The kind where there's lots of moaning going on at the table... Yum! Tyler hasn't chosen his meal yet. Maybe next week?

This weekend was Disciple Now---a time for middle schoolers to concentrate on spiritual matters. This is the group of boys that stayed at our house on Friday and Saturday nights. The two bigger boys are HS'ers that came along to "help out". It was a great bunch. The boy in the sooner sweatshirt is a 7th grader. Lance and the boys on either side of him are 6th graders.

We had lots of snacks for the evenings and made breakfast for them both mornings. David whipped up some yummy chocolate chip, blueberry and plain pancakes yesterday. Last night, he made a bunch of breakfast burritos for today. What a sweetheart! The kids had a great time while they were here, enjoying the pool/pingpong table and video games the most. And, miracle of miracles. We made it to church on time today. All 9 of us! :) Hadley stayed with a group of girls at another house, so I was the only girl here. Thank goodness. I can't imagine trying to get 9 girls ready with only two bathrooms!!

Tyler continues to be on a Tech high... He even went out Friday night with a bunch of boys from school that are going there. We also now have a dorm room reserved... Can you believe it?? We have to put a deposit on it within the next 10 days to hold it permanently. The room is right next to two boys he knows well and really likes, and that I like too. That room already had someone in it, so he's already got his roommate as well!! Reserving a room required that we choose a meal plan, although we can change our minds later about which level. So many decisions. I think my brain might explode. And my heart. Wow!

Just an FYI, Anita finally got to see a neurologist last week. He told her she could not wait any longer for surgery. He said it was a huge tumor for the area it was in and any hemmorhage could mean blindness. He said if it were possible, he would have done the surgery that day. He also told her it probably not malignant, clarifying what she was told or heard before. As it stands, she will have a few further tests this week, then surgery next Monday, March 2nd. He's even rearranging his schedule to get it done that quickly. I'm so glad she finally got in to see him. He seems ready to get her taken care of--no delays!

Well, that about does it for now. Lots to do to prepare for the coming week!

Anticipation... Anticipaaaation is making me wait...

I think I'll be sick. I can't open it.

Wait for it... Patience is a virtue...

Not yet...

YES!!!

Wahooo!!

Watch out Tech! Here he comes! Tyler got his letter of acceptance to Tech today. Talk about excited!!! I haven't seen him that pumped in a long time... Maybe ever! Of course, there are many other hurdles to cross before next fall, but this one is major. Yay Tyler!!

I've got other pics to post, but this was so exciting I just couldn't wait.... So excited and proud!!

Another gem

Found this little gem... I *heart* it!

Catch-up

Jen took Hadley to the Revolve tour. Hadley had a fantastic time with her aunt! She came home loaded with goodies and tired from all the fun. She also got to spend some time with the Grandma and Jean. She even got to eat some of the famous roast by the Grandma! :)

Tyler finally got his letter jacket! They received their letters at the banquet. We didn't waste any time getting it sewn on... We're still waiting on his jersey numbers--they take a while to get in. 'Course if I'd known that... I'd have ordered them long ago. When they get here, we'll have them sewn on the arm. He looks pretty spiffy in it, dontchathink?

My friend Jayme had some exciting news this week. Her son Nathan got to sign on National Signing Day to play football at Adams St. College. Woot! He got an amazing scholarship--about 70% of a full ride! We are so happy and excited for them all.

It's been a week for basketball around here. We went to the AHS game to see the varsity girls play vs. THS. THS really rocked the house and won it soundly. Then, Hadley had her last regular season game, followed by the end-of season tournament. We ended up losing to our rivals yesterday morning. They ended up winning the championship. We stayed for that game and rooted for Jenny Claire. She played for the winning team. A lot of our team stayed to watch. I was so proud of them as they rooted for the team who just beat them. Our girls even rushed the court to congratulate the winners. Awwwww.....

Boyfriend Ben came to watch the championship, too. His school was playing in it.

Everybody is feeling better, but still not great. Hadley's voice is stronger, but far from normal. I'm considering taking her in to the doc tomorrow...

Ok. I *think* that catches you up with the last couple of weeks! :)

Blog drought

Sorry for the lack of posts... I feel like I've been in a black hole lately. Posting just hasn't made the list. I've been taking pics and I'll share when I get them off my memory card and onto the computer. I've got several I really want you to see!

One of my big projects right now is a collage for Tyler. Every senior needs a poster to use for decoration for the all night party in May. Everybody keeps telling me to start now because it's so time consuming, so I'm working on it. Yay me! No procrastination! While going through these pics, I keep finding some wonderful forgotten photos, including this sweet piece of blackmail material. Enjoy!
