Welcome!

I love sharing my life with you on this little blog. Thank you for stopping by! I re-size all my pictures for the web, making them unsuitable for print. If you come across a picture that you would like a copy for printing, please just let me know. I'll be glad to send one your way!

3rd place isn't so bad...

The girls took third, which is ok, but they really could have done better. Hadley still has lots to learn about 3v3 soccer. It's so different from regular soccer. The team had a hard time getting it all together at the same time... Maybe next tourney!

And, last night we finally broke down and bought a family plan and cell phones for the kids. I think Tyler felt like the only boy his age who didn't have one! We only bought four--Lance and David are planning to share since David often carries a phone from work. Everybody got a razr--including me. Tyler and I chose black, Hadley picked pink, of course!, and David and Lance's is blue. They are having so much fun personalizing them and calling each other... We didn't buy a text messaging or web package, so as Hadley says, those buttons are "no-no buttons". :)Hopefully we can keep that all under control. The phones make it incredibly to get on the internet!!

More later...

Off for the weekend

So we are headed out for the weekend... Hadley has a 3v3 soccer tournament in ABQ so we will stay with my parents and enjoy some good soccer!

Haven't seen the kids in an entire week!! Time actually flew by. I found plenty to keep myself occupied and hopefully they did the same. I am really ready to see them now though! Maybe they missed us so much that they will behave the entire weekend... Miracles happen, you know!

I'll post pics when I get back. Have a great weekend!

So daily posts might be a little optimistic...

Thought I could post daily, but right now I think weekly might be more realistic!!

On Saturday, we met my parents to do a "swap". They take my kids every summer for about a week for fun at Nana and Papa's house. The kids were so excited. My dad picked Tyler up from camp on Friday and just kept him and we brought Hadley and Lance to join them on Saturday. We met at our regular roadside park and enjoyed a picnic lunch. Here's a pic...

Tyler looked great. He said he thought this year's camp might have been the best ever. Love to hear that... I'm so glad he loves to go!

Since the swap, David and I have just relaxed and enjoyed the quiet. We have eaten out every meal so far and went to see "Pirates of the Carribbean II" last night. It was pretty good. David really liked it, and I thought it was ok. I did like the ending, though. They really set the stage for the third one!!

For today, I am just doing a little cleaning so I won't have to do any for the rest of the week! Not sure what's in store for tonight. Probably another restaurant that we don't usually take the whole family to... :)

AND... I am so excited! I checked earlier in the summer for a photography course through the local college and thought they were not going to offer a course this fall, BUT they are!! Registration opens next Monday and I plan to enroll first thing! I can't wait to really learn how to use my Rebel XT. The automatic setting works pretty well for now, but I can't wait to learn the more advanced stuff. It's going to be a blast. I am trying to persuade a friend to take the course with me. Fun Fun!!

First Entry

Well, here it is. My first blog entry! I've always been envious of those who kept a journal of the day to day things and decided--Why be envious?? Just do it! I don't know what I intend for this blog. Maybe it will just be my sounding board. Maybe noone will read it. Maybe I don't care who reads it. I think for now it will just be a place I can record the day's events, my thoughts and other little stuff-you know the stuff that makes up our lives.

So, the highlights of today... My two younger kids are at the pool. I think they have been to the pool almost every day this summer. They absolutely love the freedom of being able to swim whenever they feel like it. The pool is just around the corner, so they ride their bikes and have a blast. Remember those fancy-free days of childhood??

My oldest child (is almost 16 still considered a 'child'??) is at church camp. This is his second week of the two week session. We got a very short note from him last Saturday--you know, "Hey Mom and Dad. Camp's great. Love-Tyler". I'm pretty sure camp really is great, but it would be nice to hear a few more details. Ah well, I'm sure we will hear plenty when he gets home. It's been very quiet without him here, which is funny because he isn't always in the big middle of things. He's sort of at the age where family isn't so great and he would much rather be with friends. But we miss him just the same.

Well, I could probably find much more to say, but I'm anxious to try this blog thing out and work on the looks of my blog. More later!
